DVRS PROVIDER REQUEST FOR TRAINING - Customized Employment

OBJECTIVES for TRAINING

- "Discovery" as a Supported Employment (SE) service & employment strategy

- Customized Employment as an alternative/non-traditional assessment

- Customized Employment process, reporting forms, & fees

- Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, vendor, & consumer responsibilities, & expectations for Customized Employment

IMPORTANT NOTE: To participate in this specialized SE service training, the following criteria must be met.

- Providers must be approved or in the process of applying to vend CE with NJDVRS; and,

- Participants must have minimum a BA in vocational rehabilitation or related field. Minimum two (2) years' experience in supported employment to include one (1) year working as a job coach.

- Additionally, NJDVRS's CE training discusses our CE service delivery model, and is not training for Customized Employment. Customized Employment training must be obtained or near completion prior to attending our DVRS training from an outside recognized Customized Employment entity via ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) such as Griffin-Hammis Associates (http://www.griffinhammis.com/acrecertificatetraining.html) or Marc Gold & Associates (http://www.marcgold.com/), and others.
