Notice to Elicit Letters of Interest


Fiscal Year 2016


The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) is proud to announce a Notice to Elicit Letters of Interest for Pre-Employment Transition Services for Fiscal Year 2016.


Funds available shall be used for the following activities for students with disabilities:

  • Job exploration counseling;
  • Work-based learning experiences, which may include in-school or after school opportunities or experience outside the traditional school setting (including internships) that is provided in an integrated environment to the maximum extent possible;
  • Counseling on opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transition or postsecondary educational programs at institutions of higher education;
  • Workplace readiness training to develop social skills and independent living; and
  • Instruction in self-advocacy, which may include peer mentoring

Eligible applicants for this competitively-awarded grant must be organizations with the capacity to serve students with disabilities. Applicants can be private or public non-profit or for profit organizations including Faith-Based Organizations (FBO), such as non-profit organizations with a religious or faith-based association, Community-Based Organizations (CBO), i.e., non-profit local, neighborhood or grassroots entities or Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRP), i.e., for profit or non-profit programs providing employment-related services to people with disabilities.


Interested applicants are required to submit a letter of interest and a one-page grant summary. Grant summaries will be reviewed by an impartial selection committee and selected applicants will be invited to submit a full grant application.


Take Notice that, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-34.4 et seq., the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (hereinafter "the Department" or "LWD") regularly publishes on its website at all notices of fund availability pertaining to federal or state grant funds, which may be awarded by the Department. The notices of fund availability may be found on the Department's website under the heading "Public Notices" and the subheading "Notice of Availability of Grant Program Funds."
