Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Title II Resources

The U.S. Department of Education provides New Jersey funding for Adult Basic, ESL and Civics programs through the Workforce Investment Act, Title II grant program. These funds are then competitively awarded to literacy provider agencies throughout the state. School Approval Unit

The School Approval unit of the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development works in conjunction with the NJ Department of Education to evaluate and approve private vocational schools that wish to operate within New Jersey's workforce readiness system. The School Approval unit is also responsible for the evaluation and approval of Training Providers (formerly called Chapter 531 providers). More

ABE/GED Online Resources

There are a number of websites for instructors and students to use in and out of the classroom. These resources are free and can be accessed from any computer with Internet access. Students can access online resources and practice tests to help increase their basic literacy skills and work toward getting their GED. Teachers will find instructional strategies and a bank of lesson plans.
