Extended Unemployment Insurance Benefits to Continue
Federal legislation was recently passed which extended the time period for claimants to continue collecting benefits from the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and Extended Benefits (EB) programs.

However, in order to continue EB benefits in New Jersey, additional state legislation was required.  This new legislation was recently approved by the New Jersey Legislature and signed into law by Governor Christie on January 17, 2012.

This extension allows for the EB program in New Jersey to continue to be payable through the week ending March 10, 2012.

The new federal legislation does not provide any additional benefits to the current maximum of up to ninety-nine (99) weeks of unemployment.  More information
