TRENTON, NJ - March 5, 2018 – The NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) announced a Notice of Grant Opportunity (NGO) today in the amount of $300,000 to support Helmets to Hardhats – a national nonprofit program formed to help reserve, retired, and transitioning active-duty military members connect with career training opportunities in the construction industry.
“We are proud to support the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for our country, and that includes making sure they have the career training and resources they need in one of the Garden State’s key industries,” said Acting Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo.
The grant is funded by the New Jersey Builders Utilization Initiative for Labor Diversity (NJBUILD) fund, and is expected to provide up to 60 female and minority participants with training and apprenticeships.
Eligible training providers who wish to apply must be listed on the State’s Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). Public or private placement agencies, community-based organizations, labor organizations, employers/contractors, and training organizations that represent a particular trade on the ETPL may apply.
