Jun-05-2014 Governor Christie Continues To Support Veterans Employment
BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J., June 5, 2014 – The Christie Administration continued its strong commitment to New Jersey veterans and their families, as the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development and other state agencies joined a career fair at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to connect military personnel with employers interested in their talents and skills.
Hosted by the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst at the Tommy B's Community Activities Center, the job fair included the state Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and other veteran services organizations in a cooperative effort to connect veterans with job opportunities, training programs and services ranging from legal advice to housing and medical assistance.
“We have been working diligently to connect our transitioning service people and our honorably discharged veterans with New Jersey employers and, for those needing aid, the public assistance we can provide. We will continue this summer in our commitment to assist these men and women who sacrificed so much for this nation,” said Labor Commissioner Harold J. Wirths.
