Appeal a Decision

If you have received a decision from any of the below areas and wish to file an appeal, refer to the information below for further instructions.

Disability During Unemployment
You may qualify for disability benefits during unemployment if you are unemployed and unable to work due to illness or injury not caused by your job. If you already filed a regular unemployment claim, the disability claim will be based on that claim.  More
Temporary Disability Claim (State Plan)
If you disagree with any written determination you receive from the Division of Temporary Disability Insurance, you may file an appeal. Each determination contains a written statement concerning your appeal rights.  More
Unemployment Insurance
Every determination that affects your eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits will be given to you in writing. If you disagree, you have the right to file an appeal. Your appeal rights are printed on each determination you receive.  More
Private Plan Disability Insurance
Private Plan hearing officers employed by the Board of Review conduct hearings and render final administrative decisions in disputes involving Private Plan disability benefits. More
Wage and Hour Compliance
The complainant and employer have the right to appeal if either party disagrees with the outcome of a Division of Wage and Hour investigation or with a decision about a contractor’s registration to perform public work.  The Division holds various types of hearings and conferences to resolve disputed cases.  More
Workers Compensation
Judges of Compensation have the authority to make awards, require medical examinations and services for injured employees, approve and fix attorneys’ fees and assess penalties where appropriate. Their rulings are binding and are appealable only to the Appellate Division of the Superior Court.
